Inspired by the movie, The book of life (2014).
This photograph represents a love that has been stronger than life itself. Love is a strong emotion that can be identified with a lot of items; thus, I decided on using a rose as a symbol of love. This rose is a dying but not dead yet flower, representing the fought for love my photo is going for. There is a duality of the living and the death, and that connection with life. It also explores the betrayal of a friend, which is also a type of love. For betrayal I used a big knife in the middle of that empty book. The petals in the corner of the book represent the love that someone lost by doing wrong choices. The candles is a representation of a romantical environment, something that people use to create a good scenario, but it's also meant to represent a spiritual connection. The pair of rings represents the connection between two people, as well as the pair of spoons. The contrast of the spoons and knife is like a good versus evil vibe that I went for. Finally, the empty page of the book is a message to the viewer. You are the one that decides your future, death might not be the ending. Write your own story.
